Greater Christchurch Schools Network (GCSN)

The Network is compiled of several pieces that are combined to provide the benefits to schools.

The diagram below tries to separate out some of the distinct parts of the puzzle.

Enable networks infrastructure supplies a cloud which comprises of the connections to each school subscribed and connections to specific services. This is not an Internet connection. A fibre cable will go into each school (this will run at 1000Mbps (1Gbps)) and a switch will give eight usable ports for the school. Port 8 will have the connection to the GCSN. Ports 1 – 7 are available to Service providers who are connected to Enable Networks, to provide services to the school.
